If a roll of wallpaper covers 30 square feet, how many rolls are needed to cover the walls of a recentagular room 10 feet long by 8 feet wide by 9 feet high?
There are no windows in the room

We have to cover the surface area of the walls which equals   \small 2(10*9+8*9)  or  \small 2(90+72)  or  \small 324  square feet. (Note that the product omits the area of the floor or the ceiling.) Since a roll covers 30 square feet, we need \small \frac{324}{30}=10\tfrac{4}{5}   rolls.
