Substitute  \small \frac{2}{3}w  for the height and set up an equation using the formula for the area of a rectangle. Solve the quadratic equation. Do not forget to calculate the height at the end.

\small h=\frac{2}{3}w

\small A=hw=\frac{2}{3}w(w)=\frac{2}{3}w^2

\small \frac{2}{3}w^2=6\Rightarrow w=\pm 3

Since there cannot be a negative width,

\small w=3 ft.

\small h=\frac{2}{3}w=\frac{2}{3}(3)=2ft
