\frac{3x^2+6x+5}{\tfrac{1}{2}x^2+x+1}=\tfrac{6x^2+12x+10}{x^2+2x+2}

=\tfrac{6(x^2+2x+2)-2}{x^2+2x+2}= 6 - \tfrac{2}{(x+1)^2+1}

which has the minimum value 4 when x = -1.
