Make a rate pie for both Runner X and Runner Y. Runner X goes the 18-mile distance in 6 hours, so the speed is 18/6=3 miles per hour. Runner Y finished 2 hours earlier, in 4 hours, so the rate is miles per hour. Finally, which is (B).
